The first time I submitted a story with sex scenes to a workshop I started freaking out, even crying, and had to stop myself from withdrawing the piece. Writing it I had felt liberated, but sharing it I felt exposed. I had thought I was pretty liberal but I guess I had some shame to unpack.

Turns out everyone thought the piece was just fine. I hope going forward more of us can have such a positive experience.
